Cua Dai Beach, Au Co, Hoi An, Quang Nam
Cua Dai beach is another great reason to visit Hoi An where you can soak up all the celebrated cultural and historical sites then head up to the beach and experience what is often claimed to be Vietnam’s most stunning coastal shore. Cua Dai Beach used to be listed in the top 25 most beautiful beaches in Asia – beautiful,, soft white sand beach, stretching 40m to the edge of the sea, tourists lying on the sun on the sand and enjoy the wonderful time in the hot summer.
In 2015, only in one night, the waves have collapsed hundreds of meters of embankment Cua Dai beach, ingrained into the mainland 10 m. Hotels, motels, coastal works in danger of being dragged into the sea. Over the next 3 days, sea water has eroded into the mainland area of about 30 m, extending more than 700 m along Cua Dai beach to many hotels, resorts, causing some houses and trees to collapse into the sea. Tourists no longer bike to Cua Dai beach, they turn to An Bang beach or My Khe beach in Da Nang.
Recently, Cua Dai beach has been showing signs of accretion, together with the active and anti-landslide efforts of the authorities, the beach once voted as one of the stunning beaches of the world is now gradually revived and began to welcome visitors back. There are also plenty of great seafood restaurants located around the coast so it’s worth staying for dinner and enjoying fresh dishes served up from the vendors lining the beachfront.
